ShoeperWoman Shops… The Dune Shoes Sale

I happened to be in Edinburgh this week, so naturally I had to pay a visit to the Dune Shoes sale. Well, it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it?

As soon as I walked through the door, my eyes instantly homed in on these little polka dot beauties:

These are no longer available on the Dune website, but they were reduced to £40, and might still be available in some stores, if you fancy trying your luck. As you know, the last thing I need is another pair of polka dot shoes, but there was one pair of these in the entire store, and they just so happened to fit me, so I couldn’t bring myself to leave them behind. They have a fabric upper, a bright red heel and trim, and pointed toe: I really like the asymmetric vamp, which I always think makes pointed toes look more flattering on the foot, somehow.

One of my biggest issues with sale shopping is my tendency to gravitate towards the regular priced stock, rather than just staying in the sale section, and that’s exactly what led me to these ‘Carine’ peep toes:

These look white on the Dune website for some reason, but they’re actually the perfect “nude” for my skin tone. Again, I don’t really NEED another pair of nude shoes, but the photos don’t really do these justice: I feel in love with the elegant, curvy shape, and the soft leather upper, which has a tiny mock croc effect, and a slight shimmer. As with the polka dot pair, these are shoes I know I’ll get tons of use out of: they didn’t have the black and white version in the store I visited, but that colourway is part of the Dune shoes sale, which is a great price for a lovely shoe.

As far as sizing goes, I’ve been having to size down with Dune shoes for the last couple of years, finding most styles to run large. With these ones, however, my usual size was the best fit, so I’d say these run true-to-size. I haven’t had the chance to wear them yet, but they seem pretty comfortable, too – as I mentioned, the upper is lovely and soft, and I have a feeling it’ll get even better with use: fingers crossed!

There are lots more styles reduced in the Dune shoes sale: take a look at the selection here!
