Zara green satin flat slingbacks
I know this is my second Zara post in just a few days, but, after a lacklustre couple of seasons, shoe-wise (Sorry, Zara! Don’t worry, I’ve still been buying up your outerwear, though: never too many trench coats, amiright?), I’m really loving the current collection, so, rather than buying it all, I’m choosing to just write about it all, in the hope that it helps get it out of my system. I mean, it’s unlikely, but you never know, do you?
Anyway, as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been wearing a lot of flats lately, which means I’ve also been on the lookout for even MORE pairs of flats I can add to my collection. I think I have most of the “basics” I need (black, gold and red, basically: OK, I could definitely be doing with a tan pair or two, but I’m sure I’ll find those soon!), so now I’d like to add in some “fun” pairs to the mix. My style has been very simple (Read: “boring”) this summer, and I’ve been mostly sticking to things like jeans and t-shirts/sweaters, which I always think work really well with a brightly coloured or unusual shoe – which brings me to these beautiful, emerald green flats.
Now, to be totally honest, I’m not madly keen on the toe shape of these: I’ve never been a fan of square toed shoes, and find pointed or almond toes to be much more elegant/flattering, but while I’d definitely prefer these with a pointed toe, I’m willing to overlook it in this case, because the rest of the shoe is just so lovely. The emerald green upper is what really did it for me here (These are, however, also available in red, if you don’t share my love of green), but the toe embellishment is the perfect finishing touch – and might just helo justify the “more-than-I’d-usually-pay-for-flats” price tag!
