Tory Burch ‘Alysssa’ tan wedge sandals, £142.50
If I had to nominate the perfect summer shoe colour, I’d be hard pressed to choose between tan and gold… so you can imagine how happy I was to find these Tory Burch wedges, which use both colours to great effect.
These are much more tan than gold, of course, but that little metallic strip at the heel is just enough to add a bit of interest, and to give the shoe a slightly more upmarket feel. They’re the kind of shoes that aren’t too dressy for daytime wear, but not so casual that you couldn’t wear them out to dinner, say. In fact, I think they’re the ideal holiday wedges – perfect for a day of sightseeing (that heel may be high, but the wedge should support the foot nicely, keeping them relatively comfortable), followed by a night of cocktails, or whatever else takes your fancy. The perforated leather upper adds to that summery effect – and will help keep your feet nice and cool into the bargain.
What to wear with tan wedges?
This is a question that could have as many answers as you want it to, but as soon as I laid eyes on this cute little stripe dress, I felt it was just crying out for a pair of tan shoes:

Tan isn’t the only colour that would work here, though, obviously: while the colour of the belt makes it the obvious choice, it would be easy enough to either switch the belt out for another colour, or leave it place and accesorize with something bold and bright: the beauty of tan is that it really does go with almost everything!
I have two pairs of tan wedges, they go with EVERYTHING in my wardrobe.
