Uh-oh.
I KNEW I shouldn’t have looked at the Boden website yesterday: I just KNEW it. I’ve been waiting for some of the items I’d seen in spring/summer preview to finally appear on the site, you see, and I knew there would be trouble when it did. I mean, seriously:
Clockwise from top: 1 / 2/ 3 / 4
So, there are a few things in life – or in fashion, rather – that I just can’t resist. One is stripes. One is gingham. Green is another, and black-and-white is a fourth. It’s basically like Boden just crawled into my brain for this collection, then, isn’t it? And, you know, I’ve been SO good lately with shopping. I still haven’t succumbed to the Warehouse Dress of Dreams, for instance. I’ve been diligently buying clothes I know I’ll wear, and which are suitable for the weather and my lifestyle (I guess the fact that spring never arrived in Scotland this year has helped with that one: it’s much easier to resist sundresses when it’s snowing outside!), rather than shopping for my imaginary life. But now here I am, trying to talk myself out of buying yet MORE stripe dresses and gingham print skirts: gah!
In my defence, I’ve had my eye on the green gingham pencil skirt ever since I saw it in the spring preview: it’s the perfect colour for me, I love the retro feel of the print, and I also really like the way they’ve paired it here with the baby blue cardigan: which, of course, I’d ALSO need to buy, because OBVIOUSLY. As for the stripe dress next to it, however: well, I DIDN’T see that one in the preview, so it was a pleasant surprise to me. I have the long-sleeved version of this dress in green, and am fond of saying I’d buy it in every colour if I possibly could, so now I feel like they’ve gone and released this cap-sleeved stripe version purely to lead me into temptation.
Will it work? We’ll just have to wait and see…
