HITCHED by Yosi Samra Serena Glitter Flats
Confession: for the past few weeks, I’ve been wandering around my house wearing shoes designed for brides and bridesmaids.
It’s not quite as bizarre as it sounds, however: the shoes in question are these pretty little glitter flats from the HITCHED by Yosi Samra line, and although they were made with weddings in mind (either as a pair of dancing shoes to change into after the ceremony, or to wear all day long, if you prefer), for me they’re also the perfect house shoes. OK, maybe a LITTLE more OTT than your standard pair of slippers, true, but although I do own a pair of slippers, which I wear with my PJs, once I’m dressed for the day, I feel a little bit silly in them, so I’m always on the lookout for shoes that are just as comfortable, but which could pass as ‘regular’ shoes if someone were to come calling.
I think a lot of people assume that those of us who work from home just stay in our dressing gowns all day, but I find I’m much more productive when I’m dressed, so PJs are out. I still, however, want to feel comfortable, and don’t really see the point in putting on a pencil skirt and heels, say, so I look for alternatives that will make me look like I’ve made a bit of effort, even when I haven’t. I’m wearing the rose gold version of these shoes as I write this, and while I won’t claim they’re just as comfortable as my fluffy slippers are, they are very soft and easy to wear, and that’s good enough for me. Even better is the packaging: these arrived in a pretty little box, complete with their own dust bag, which means they’d also make a lovely gift, if you don’t want to buy a pair for yourself.
