Shoepervillains: Rick Owens hooded leather wedge boots

Rather sinister, don’t you think?

I’ve just worked out that I’ve been writing about shoes for almost four years now, and about fashion in general for even longer than that. I still think Rick Owens’ hooded boots, which were also released in an ankle version last year, are the strangest shoes I’ve ever seen. I mean, if these were human, they’d probably be arrested, purely because they look so suspicious, don’t they?

So, what IS going on under that hood?

I don’t know about you, but I’m disappointed. I was hoping for something much more shocking than this.

Still, even if the wedge underneath is pretty unremarkable, the covering on top is dramatic enough to turn heads as you walk by in these. If that’s as good a reason as any for you to want to buy them, they’re £463 at The Outnet, but be warned, there aren’t many pairs left…
