A few of you have pointed out to me this week that Week 26 marks the halfway point of the Shoe Challenge, and I’m really glad you did, because I actually hadn’t even realised! Now that I have, though, I can’t believe we’re halfway through! It honestly just feels like it’s been going for a few weeks, so I did a quick calculation of my own shoes and… I’m just over halfway through, too! Whew! I must admit, it’s a relief to know that I’m not quite as far off track as I’d thought I was, although there is still the small matter of me having more pairs of summery shoes left than there are summery days left to wear them in: d’oh! You’d think I’d have learned my lesson last year, huh?
To mark the halfway point of the Shoe Challenge, I… made a spreadhseet to track my remaining shoes. I should really have done that right from the start, of course, but it seemed a little anal even for me, so I resisted, and I lived to regret it. So now I have all of my shoes in a list, and I can see exactly which pairs I still have to “save”, and plan how I’m going to do it. I also seem to have fewer shoes than I’d thought I had: I counted 73 pairs rather than 75, but my winter boots are all in storage right now, so I was working purely from memory. I’ll have to do a recount when they all come back out again this Autumn!
Anyway, to get all serious for a moment, I just want to take a quick moment to say a big thank you to everyone who is taking part in the Challenge. I know how time-consuming it can be to take the photos, upload them, etc (and as some of you are probably finding out, the Challenge itself tends to be harder than you think it’s going to be!), and I really appreciate you all taking the time to do that every week, and to stop by the roundup to leave your comments and encouragement for everyone else. You are true ShoeperStars, and actually, I think that’s going to be my new name for you all: it’s catchier than Challengettes, after all!
Now, enough with the words, and on to the photos: here’s your halfway point roundup – well done, everyone!
Eek – half way? Surely not! I’m so very much not half way through my shoes! Better crack on!
