Well,ย Shoeperman was surprisingly unfazed by the wholeย “shelves as shoe-storage” idea. I’ve yet to put it into practice, but I have to say, I’m tempted. After all, as Roisin commented, just think how much easier the Shoe Challenge would be if I could actually see the shoes I still have to wear, ratherย  than having to root around in the backs of closets for them all the time!

Speaking of which, though, storage will probably be less of an issue once this challenge is over, because working on the “use it or lose it” principle, I’ve worked out that I’m probably going to be losing quite a bit of my current collection (especially if the weather stays as miserable as it has been: it’s just too cold for sandals!). I’m actually OK with that, though. In fact, I’m kinda looking forward to having a more pared-down collection, full of shoes I love and wear to death, rather than a larger collection of shoes that never see the light of day, and just take up space.

I bet Shoeperman is looking forward to it too.

As for these shoes: well, what else do you wear on your feet when you’ve just survived 24 hours of torrential rain? Satin shoes, obviously. D’oh.

  • RAIN!? SERIOUSLY!?? Times like this make me glad I live in a Mediterranean climate ๐Ÿ™‚

On to the outfit: I love how you manage to find a nautical-ish shirt in TEAL ๐Ÿ˜€ Love it
The shoes: Teal in satin is one of the prettiest things ever.
I love the outfit, you look lovely as usual.

    • Oh God, yes, today’s actually the first dry day we’ve had since last Friday… By last night the noise of the non-stop rain against the windows had actually started to drive me crazy. I’m so glad today was sunny(ish) ๐Ÿ™‚

That top did make me happy, I must admit ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I love this outfit – nautical styles look so good on you!

Shelves are definitely the way forward for the shoes. I might have to bin some of my books. In fact, Nic is out this evening so maybe I’ll take the opportunity to do a bit of a rearrange! x

  • you’re so lucky you live in a country where it actually rains from time to time.
you can come to israel if you want to, where it’s a million degrees (celcius) pretty much all year and I get to wear my pretty boots for only a week (on a good year).

these shoes are adorable! we share the obsession for bows ๐Ÿ™‚
and I love that picture of your closet, it’s all blue, striped and polka-dotted…
do you organize your closet by colour? I would really love to see a picture of the whole thing!

    • I think “luck” is relative – it doesn’t just rain from time to time here, it rains almost ALL the time, so we have the opposite problem from you, and never get to wear nice sandals etc ๐Ÿ™‚ This is why I’ve been really struggling with the shoe challenge this month: so many of my shoes are open-toed, and there are so few opportunities to wear them…

My closets are roughly organised by colour – or that’s the plan, anyway, they don’t always stay that way!

  • I minimised my shoe collection considerably last year, then immediately found a million reasons to wear all the shoes I had just sold/given away ๐Ÿ˜

  • Nice outfit!

Can I borrow some rain? None here but a single drop that I saw on my windscreen today, despite two weeks of tennis matches, and the fact that I had my car washed…

  • Love the shoes! I have 30 pairs of shoes waiting to be gotten rid of, and I just can’t bring myself to do it. What if I need them the day after they go?

  • I live in Vancouver B.C. and it just changed from pouring rain to super-hot in the course of about one day. I like the weather but I wish the change was more gradual.

I love satin! And your shoes are such a pretty color too. Awesome.

Shelves make it soo much easier when you have a lot of shoes. I used to keep my shoes all squashed in my closet and, like people here have already said, I was always forgetting about what I owned because I couldn’t see them. Now I have them on shelves (actually bookcases) and it’s much better.

  • your hair looks very pretty in a ponytail Amber ๐Ÿ˜Ž i WISH i could have beautiful long lustrous hair but if it grows past my shoulders it is in terrible condition and just look slank and dull and limp and … crap. so i applaud your beautiful titian locks !
