River Island brown studded knee high western boots, £120
The word “Western” in a product description is generally a good sign that I’m not going to like the item being described, and in the case of most of River Island’s current Wester-inspired stock, that’s definitely true.
Not these boots, though. No, I actually love these: partly because a tan, knee high boot is such a staple that it’s hard to get wrong, but also because I think the gold studs add something to the appearance of these rather than detracting from it. The studs are just enough to make the upper interesting, but not enough to make them look like something a cowboy might’ve just kicked off, and that makes them just fine by me. I’ve always thought winter boots are one of the things River Island do really well: what do you think of these ones?

It looks like there are a lot more studs on the back, which makes me suspicious.
