Prada wedges, £783
I’m a huge fan of raffia wedges for summer, but there are raffia wedges and then there are Prada raffia wedges: these are the latter, and they’re about a million miles away from the humble, canvas-topped footwear which form the cornerstone of my vacation wardrobe!
Gold leather and silver studs sit atop a 5.5″ raffia platform, giving these a good chance of being the most ostentatious wedges by the pool, if nothing else. Mind you, they also stand a good chance of being the most expensive wedges, too: they’re £783, and although I like their style, that figure needs one less digit in it for me to even consider spending that much on a raffia heel, which I know wouldn’t exactly last years. (Or not on my feet, anyway.)
If you do think these are worth the investment, however, I think they’d be very easy to wear, despite the perhaps daunting height of that platform. Gold is my favourite colour for summer sandals: it goes with everything, shines nicely in the sun, and translates easily from day to evening.
They are fabulous but way too pricey for me.
