Apologies for this post. I know I’ve spoken a whole lot about nautical shoes here already (and the site’s only two weeks old!) but I keep seeing pairs I love, and I figured I’d get it out of my system by listing them all here, kicking off with the very best: Christian Louboutin’s ‘Jefferson’ slingbacks, above, which are £625 from Browns.
Read on for some more…
Carvela’s rope soled platform peep toes, £120 at ASOS. That rope sole isn’t doing it for me (because, er, it’s hairy) but they do have a bit of a seaside feel to them. Just don’t wear them to the actual seaside, because that would be silly.
More rope detailing, this time from Topshop. Their ‘Vex’ pumps are £22.
For something a little different, Feud’s ‘Tantric’ sandals have a chunky wooden heel and red, white and blue uppers. They’re £85 at Office.
The mirror platform and heel seem a little incongruous, but the nautical style uppers on Dune’s ‘Sintillate’ heels are very appealing.
Reader Caroline sent me a link to Shoe Missy’s ‘Bobbie’ peeptoes, knowing they’d be right up my street. They’ve been reduced to £37.68, and are still available in all sizes except for a UK 4. Hey, guess what size I am?
Oh my! Lovely! I especially love the second pair! They’re simple and the shape is wonderful, and the rope gives them just a hint of a summery feel.
The Louboutins make my heart sing (of course) and the last pair are just too cute for words!
The last ones are just soo cute!
I’m just not feelin’ the nautical this year. I’m more in a tropical mode for summer. That said, I like the Carvela’s rope soled platform peep toes quite a lot. The texture is so interesting and they have no red in them, which pleases me. Worn with white linen …very fresh.
The last ones are rather amazing.
