LK Bennett ‘Fern’ Haircalf Point Toe Polka Dot Court Shoes, £115
Well, we’re now well and truly into sales season, which brings both good news and bad news for the shoe lovers out there.
The first piece of good news is that these shoes exist, and, well, LOOK at them. I could definitely live without the calf-hair upper, to be honest – I much prefer leather, or even something synthetic, but, that aside, these are a great pair of pumps, with the graduated polka dot print bringing a new twist to the classic old court. (And a new way for me to love polka dots, too: I wouldn’t even have thought that was possible, but it just goes to show that just when you think you’ve seen it all, there will always be something new to surprise you. Not that this print is “new” of course, but… oh, you know what I mean, I’m sure.)
The other piece of good news here is that these shoes are on sale, and are now £115, down from the original £275. That’s not amazingly good news, of course, because they’re still not exactly what you’d call cheap, but it IS a pretty steep discount, so if you’ve been watching and waiting for the price to drop, then a) You’re much braver than I am – I can never bring myself to do that, for fear the thing will sell out before I can buy it, and b) Your time has come – go forth and buy shoes!
Or… maybe not, actually. Because, of course, the BAD news here is that because these are on sale, they’re selling out fast, and not all sizes are available. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news. There’s always eBay, of course, and you never know when a return will come in and bring them back into stock, so don’t lose hope, people – I never do.
I’m with you on the hairy thing, I could live without that. But the polka dot print is winning!
