Jessica Simpson Dany leather t-strap platform sandals

These shoes have been causing a bit of a stir on the shoe blogs recently, and I can see why: they definitely have that whole chunky-shoe aesthetic going on that’s been so popular for the past couple of seasons, and the 5.8″ heel is certainly an attention-grabber.

What do you think of these? I’d love to try them, if only to find out what it’s like to walk in 5.8″ heels (probably not nearly as difficult as it sounds, in this case, given the correspondingly large size of the platform). If you would, too, they’re $98 and you can buy them from the Jessica Simpson website.

  • The brown ones are beautiful! I’d love to have them, but I don’t think I could ever muster up the ccourage to leave the house on heels that high…

  • I’m a hippie surfer chick from the 70s & got my first pair of tall wooden platforms in 1973 which I loved. No one in my school was wearing them yet & I paired it with a home made Levis jean skirt,(or bell bottom jeans) which caused a stir. I’ve been looking for some vintage shoes but they are either tattered or hundreds of dollars which is crazy. These shoes have a new but still retro look but bring back memories, I want a pair! Two Lips also makes some great wooden sole retro styles.
