I’m a big fan of midi skirts, but I know some of you find them a little too formal for everyday wear, so when I spotted blogger Emmaude Mpanzu wearing this fun outfit, I was inspired to try and recreate it:
Here’s the skirt:
New Look pink mesh midi skirt
It’s from New Look, and, in addition to this pale pink, it also comes in no less than four other colours – which makes it a little bit TOO tempting, if you ask me.
I love the way Emmaude has dressed down the girliness of the skirt with a casual , graphic tee: it instantly makes the look much more youthful, and a lot more fun. One of the reasons this outfit works so well is that the colour of the t-shirt is such a great match for the skirt – it’s an easy way to tie a look like this together, and make what should technically be two mis-matched styles (a casual top and a dressier skirt) look like they were made for each other. The t-shirt/midi skirt look is one I’ve admired for a while now, and this is such a great example of it!
I couldn’t find the exact top Emmaude is wearing here, but I have found some alternatives, so here you go:
