Dolcis stripe stiletto court shoes, £25
I almost bought these shoes last week. I’m sure I don’t really need to explain why: I mean, stripes AND polka dots? In the same shoe? They could almost have been made for me, and they were definitely calling out my name, but I’ve added a few additional pairs of shoes to my collection over the past few weeks, so I decided I should probably resist. That doesn’t mean I’ll continue to resist, of course – they ARE just £25, after all – but I did feel rather proud of myself when I managed to close down the F&F website (Which has proven fairly lethal to me lately) without having made a purchase.
These have a textile upper (which should make them fairly breathable: always a good thing for a shoe that’s most likely to be worn in warm weather!), a pointed toe and a heel height of just under 4″. Although the shape is pretty standard, the print (or both of the prints, rather) makes these much more interesting, and they’re also the kind of shoes that’ll look as good with jeans as they will with a more dressed-up outfit. Speaking of which…
What to wear with stripe shoes?
As is always the case with me and stripes, I decided there was absolutely no point in trying to downplay the retro/nautical appeal of these shoes, so here’s a dressed-up nautical look featuring stripes AND anchors:
What to wear with stripe shoes:
skirt // blouse // bag // phone cover // lipstick // nail polish // belt
The Collectif anchor-print blouse has been on my wish list for ages, but rarely seems to be in stock in my size, unfortunately. It’s the kind of piece that could be dressed up or down too, though, so if you were to switch the pencil skirt for a pair of jeans, you’d have a more casual version of this look.
Oh very nice. I really like these.
