Dolce & Gabbana gold lace slingback pumps, £495
Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2014 is one of their best yet, in my opinion. It’s full of fifties-style floral skirts, gorgeous dresses, and, of course, these shoes. Crafted from a delicate gold lace fabric, these have a mesh lining to create that sophisticated shape, and a slim stiletto heel, topped with a gold leather slingback. They manage to create that “barely there” look without any uncomfortable straps – and also without exposing too much of the foot, so if you haven’t had time to freshen up your pedicure, at least you know these will be a little more forgiving than a strappier sandal, but just as lightweight and glamorous.
Speaking of glamour, these are the kind of shoes that are destined to be worn to the most special of events. Although gold is one of the most versatile colours out there, these aren’t ever going to look particularly “casual”, which is why I’ve chosen to dress them up for a party – you choose the occasion!
What to wear with gold lace slingbacks?
What to wear with gold lace slingbacks:
dress // earrings // bracelet // clutch bag // eye-shadow // nail polish
This dress is one of those items I almost wish I hadn’t found. I have absolutely no need for a green prom dress (Not that that’s ever stopped me before, mind you… ), and, in fact, I have a dress in a similar colour and shape currently hanging in my closet unworn, which means I have even LESS need for this Monsoon dress. I do love it, though, and I particularly love the green and gold colour combination, which has inspired me to create my own version of the outfit above, albeit with items at slightly different price-points! (No gold lace Dolce & Gabbana shoes for me, sadly.) I still love that dress, though…
These shoes would look SPECTACULAR with that gorgeous dress, but otherwise I don’t think I am that fond of them. Weird.
I want that dress.
I’m not a fan of the costume jewellery but the bag is great, it reminds me of an antique piece my great grandmother left me.
