THE SHOES: Carvela ‘Gemini’ red jewel-encrusted pumps, £120
These shoes are called ‘Gemini’ by Carvela. Not to be confused with THESE shoes from 2010, which are ALSO called ‘Gemini’ by Carvela. Well, I guess Gemini IS the sign of the twins, so it makes sense for the brand to make two shoes of the same name! I know which pair I prefer, though, and it’s this knockout red pump, encrusted with an all-over jewel coating, just to add some extra pizzazz!
These have a textile upper, liberally sprinkled with diamante, and sitting atop a 4″ stiletto heel. They’re the glammed-up twin sister (to go back to the ‘Gemini’ theme) of the classic red pumps which are such a ShoeperWoman stalwart, and they’ll take you anywhere you want to go – as long as it’s fabulous enough to require a pair of blinged-up stilettos, that is. (And if it isn’t, then why would you want to go there, anyway?)
I love wearing red pumps with jeans, and find they have the ability to instantly dress up even the dullest of outfits – you always look like you’ve made an effort when you’re wearing red shoes. These particular red shoes, however, would be just a little bit TOO dressed up for many outfits (it’s not often you’ll hear me say that, but in this case, it’s true!), which is why I’ve chosen to pair them with an appropriately glamorous outfit:
THE STYLE: dress // nails // lips // eyes
This is a very ‘old Hollywood’ kind of look: so much so that I had to restrain myself from adding a blonde wig, to do a full-on ‘Marilyn’! When you have a show-stopping dress AND a pair of killer heels, you really don’t need much else, but, as is often the case, the makeup is as big a part of the look at the clothes here: those red lips will be the perfect finishing touch!
