Weekly Wishlist | Autumn/Winter outerwear essentials

I never thought I’d say it, but I’m NOT hating the idea of autumn/winter fashion this year. I know, stop the press, right?

Don’t worry: I haven’t lost my mind, and I’m definitely not saying I’m looking forward to the cold weather that’s on the way. I’ve spotted quite a few items from the new collections that I really like, though, and, well, I may have BOUGHT a few of them, too. Here’s what’s on my wishlist this week:

mint winter coat

Miss Selfridge mint coat, £89

I’ve been hoping against hope that one of the more affordable retailers would release a mint coat this season, and here’s the answer to my prayers! This double-breasted coat from Miss Selfridge will allow me to take my love of mint green into the next season, and it has a nice, fairly fitted shape, too. One of the reasons I’ve always disliked the autumn/winter season is that so much of my clothing budget has to be taken up by overwear and boots: they’re necessary, but they’re expensive, and all too often leave me with very little left over for other items. At £89, though, this coat isn’t TOO much of an investment, especially considering how often I’d end up wearing it!  (For more of my favourite winter coats for this season, go here!)

Zara trench coat

Zara trench coat, £99.99

A classic trench coat has been on my wish list for a long time now, and while I do have a couple of trench coats at the moment, they’re both fairly old and worn, and in cuts which I liked at the time, but have since gotten a little tired of. Zara’s trench coats are expensive, but they’re great quality: I can’t count the number of times I’ve picked one up and tried it on in-store, only to decide I couldn’t justify the expense at the time: I’ve always been the kind of person who finds it hard to justify spending money on just one item, when I could buy several cheaper ones instead! I’m trying to take more of a “quality over quantity” approach to shopping lately, though, and think this coat is the kind of investment I’d be glad I made: you just can’t go wrong with such a classic coat!

Topshop petite faux leather biker jacket

Topshop Petite Faux Leather Biker Jacket, £58 (also in Tall and Regular)

ShoeperMan very kindly bought me one of these jackets this week, which, for those of you who’ve been paying attention, means I’ve managed to acquire two biker jackets this month already. Well, I DID warn you this was going to be my new obsession…  I have no regrets, though: like the other biker jackets I’ve shown you, this is a faux leather, but it’s really thick, fits perfectly, and the fur collar is detachable, which I like. I love it – and now I want a tan one, too…
