ASOS ‘Penzance’ nude peep toes, £30
If you’re a long-time reader (or even a new reader, come to think of it), you’ll already know that I consider a good pair of nude heels to be a shoe wardrobe essential. (See my other shoes essentials here, if you haven’t already!) These ones by ASOS definitely fall into the category of “good pair of nude heels”. The shape is as close to perfect as it gets without a giant price tag, and I love that curved side and super-high heel.
That heel, however, is my one reservation about these shoes. It’s 5″ high, and although there is a very small covered platform to balance it out, I don’t expect these will be exactly “comfortable” to walk in. If you’re looking for an “everyday” shoe, for instance, you might want to keep on looking. But if you’re looking for an “every so often” shoe, which will allow you to wear a fabulous dress without having to worry about finding a shoe that matches, these could be a good, low-budget buy.
What to wear with them?
Well, the whole point of nude shoes is that you can wear them with literally anything, so I’m going to use this outfit suggestion as an excuse to show you this amazing Preen dress:
What to wear with nude peep toes:
dress // bag /// belt // earrings
It’s beautiful, but it’s also £900, so, you know, dream on, ShoeperWoman. It has, however, convinced me that I need a lemon coloured dress in my life, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for a more affordable alternative. In the meantime, though, the shoes ARE only £30, and they also come in yellow, although, sadly it’s that “highlighter yellow”, rather than the luscious lemon of the dress. Still, at least that stops me convincing myself I need a pair: any colour other than neon yellow, and I could have been seriously tempted at that price!
The shoes look really nice (though I would definitelly prefer a slightly lower heel). That dress is magnificent! Any luck finding a budget version?
Too tall, but what a lovely shape.
