ASOS CASPER Knee High Boots in black and brown

ASOS Casper flat boots

ASOS ‘Casper’ boots, £45

It’s not often you see a pair of sensible, flat boots here at Shoeperwoman, but after a couple of bad winters recently (and, let’s face it, a pretty bad summer this year), I think some “sensible” footwear is definitely in order for me this year! I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of flat boots for a while now, but these ones by ASOS are the first ones I’ve found that meet all of my requirements. What I’ve found is that when it comes to flat boots, most designers tend to go for a very chunky, “rugged” kind of look, and while that most definitely has its place, it’s a style that doesn’t really work too well with my wardrobe and taste. Instead, I’ve been keeping an eye out for something slim-fitting and streamlined, with a silhouette which is more elegant than streamlined.

That, however, has been surprisingly difficult to find, so when I came across these boots, I instantly added both available colours to my Wish List. I particularly like the elasticated section on the back of these, which means they have a much better chance of fitting properly in the calves than regular boots. The almond toe is also a nice addition, and adds to the sleek shape. Best of all, these are only £45, and while that’s a sure sign that they’re not real leather, it does also make it easier to justify buying both colours. Not that I would ever do such a thing, you understand. Ahem.

  • I have a pair of simple black leather boots like these and I’m forever getting stopped by co-workers or fellow shoppers wanting to know where I found them. (LL Bean, of all places, ages ago). They are getting a bit run down and I fear replacing them is going to be quite the quest.
