Well, I think these are definitely one of the more distinctive shoes I’ve shown you this week, don’t you?
With a stripey wedge heel, and a pink and gret mix upper, these have bags of character, and while they probably won’t be the easiest shoes in the world to style, I bet they’d be comfortable to wear: and the centre of attention everywhere you wore them.
What do you think of them? Click here to view some more pictures or buy them for £685.
You know, I’m really growing to love Tabitha Simmons. In a strictly platonic, admirer-of-her-shoes kind of way, I mean. These are the third pair of her shoes I’ve featured here this year, and the second to be completely covered in polka dots. You can see why I like this designer, can’t you?
Add the red uppers, gorgeous stiletto heel and small platform to the general dottiness, and I’m sold. The shoes, on the other hand are NOT sold – or at least not to me – because they cost £570. If you want them to be sold to you, head over to Net-a-Porter to claim them.
Net-a-Porter describe these shoes as having an “old-world glamour”, and I think they got it spot-on there. I’m picturing them worn with a tailored tweed, 40s-style suit, and a jaunty little hat, possibly one a woman who’s standing at a railway station, clutching her handkerchief and trying to look brave. No, I have absolutely no idea where that came from.
They’re by Tabitha Simmons, and come in two diffeent colourways: the classic black and white, and the slightly more unexpected tan and green. Very cute, but also very pricey, they’re £695 at Net-a-Porter.
If last year was the Year of the Stripes for me, I’m christening this one Year Dot. I feel it’s only fair to give you all a bit of warning about this: I’ve already purchased one polka-dot item ( a top) this year, and I plan to purchase more. I won’t be forsaking my beloved stripes, of course – especially not when there are so many of them in the shops at the moment to tempt me – but I’m really feeling the dot fever. Which brings me to these Tabitha Simmons sandals.
This is one example of dots that I WON’T be buying this year: not just because they cost £796, but because the mix of colours is just a little bit OTT. (That said, if I saw them in New Look for £20, they’d probably be coming home with me. Well, you would, wouldn’t you?) They’re lots of fun, though, and have put a smile on my face on this dark January day, so let’s have one more look at them:
I will be honest, I don’t really know where to start with these shoes. There’s something about them I like, but there’s also something about them I DON’T like: possibly that coral colour, which isn’t a favourite of mine. They did jump out of the page at me, though, and that’s why I’m showing you them now, although I’m going to leave it up to you to pass any further judgement on them. They’re £760 at Net-a-Porter.
