    Oh no! Celebrities in “Same Shoes Shocker!”

    I jest, of course: Rihanna and Alicia Keys may both have worn Christian Louboutin’s ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps to the Grammy Awards last night – and they may both have worn them with black, v-neck dresses, too – but that’s where the similarities end, and both women ended up with very different looks.

    Which do you prefer, though? When I first saw the product shot for these shoes, I wasn’t particularly impressed, not being a big fan of the “clear plastic on shoes” look, but seeing them on a foot has actually started to sway my opinion a little: I like the barely-there, cap-toe effect, which I think looks much better in real life than in the photo. What do you think?

    So, what do we think about the wearing of socks and stilettos together, readers?

    Rihanna is obviously cool with it: she wore silver ankle socks with these gold stilettos to the 2010 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards this weekend (take a look under the jump to see the rest of her outfit), but of course, that’s Rihanna. This definitely isn’t a look for everyone, and while I think it can look cute, I always have to add the words “on other people” to that sentence, because it’s not something I’d be able to pull off myself.

    These Alexander McQueen shoe boots fall firmly into that hated category of “Boots Pretending to be Shoes”, but, oddly enough, I don’t dislike them nearly as much as I dislike most other footwear of this genre. Perhaps the curvy shape is helping them out, but while I wouldn’t pay $1,045 for them (or, indeed, any other price), I wouldn’t hurl them into space, either.

    Rihanna wore them earlier this week, arriving at the Late Night With David Letterman Show. This is actually a pretty tame outfit for Rihanna, but what do you think of it?     I tried to find a picture of the back of the boots Rihanna wore to last night’s 3rd Annual DKMS Gala, because it’s the heel that really makes them stand out, but unfortunately the image agency we’re using for Shoeperwoman at the moment didn’t have the picture, so you’re going to have to head over to The Fashion Police if you want to see it.

    Rihanna, of course, has never exactly been shy when it comes to outrageous footwear, and these, with their high platform, pointed toes ad velvet ribbon laces would seem to qualify. I’m not sure who they’re by, so if you know, feel free to leave me a comment.
