Court shoes with jewels on the toe are ten a penny at the moment, although sadly they don’t cost quite as little as that. These ones by Studio TMLS are £130 at ASOS, and are one of the nicer versions I’ve seen, with the large crystal on each two surrounded by twisted metalwork to create a very opulent looking court shoe. These also feature the lesser-seen pointed toe, which makes them a little more delicate looking than some of their counterparts.

Of course, this IS Miu Miu we’re talking about. Restraint just isn’t something we’d normally associate with the brand, so I guess black snakeskin, studs and jewels are nothing out of the ordinary here: and that’s just the uppers I’m talking about. The heel is another matter altogether:

Getting married? Planning on doing the whole old/new/borrowed/blue thing? If so, I think these could make a fantastic pair of bridal shoes, taking care of both “new” and “blue” in one stroke!

Of course, at $780, they’ll eat up a large part of your budget and may well cost more than the dress, but at least you can take comfort in the fact that you got them on sale, and didn’t have to pay the full price of $985 for them. And that, as they’re silver rather than white, you’ll be able to wear them again.

The Roger Vivier line certainly seems to be embracing all things pink this season, no?

These pink shoes are definitely a little more wearable than the last pair of pink RVs I showed you, in so far as a pair of bright pink skyscraper heels can ever be called “wearable”, that is. I love the shape of the sides and the giant jewel on the toes, and I’m intrigued by the … actually, what IS that on the heel? What would you call it? I think I’m going to call it a “nubbin”, with thanks to Chandler from Friends. And actually, although the Nubbin seems pretty pointless, I actually quite like it, and I don’t know why. Nubbin, nubbin, nubbin. Maybe I just like the word?

Anyway, these shoes are £859 at Colette, which means they may as well not even exist as far as I’m concerned, but they did allow me to use the word “nubbin” in a blog post. Every cloud…

With my upcoming holiday now less than two weeks away, I’m finding myself drawn to flat sandals and flip-flops more than my usual high heels these days. These pewter thong sandals from Dorothy Perkins check all of the boxes as a holiday shoe for me:

They’re flat. I’m more than used to walking in heels, but on vacation I tend to do a lot more walking than I do in my normal life, so flats are always good. And heels and shorts aren’t always the best look, anyway.
They’re still dressy enough to be worn in the evenings with skirts and dresses with the little “jewels” on the front dressing them up nicely.
They’re metallic, so they’ll go with everything in my suitcase.
