Every year, I like to take a look back at some of my favourite purchases, and say a quick thank-you to my favourite brands of the year. This year’s list is very slightly different: as some of you might now, I’ve been re-defining my style slightly, and have been going for a more casual look than I have in the past, and that’s affected my choices a little. While there are tons and tons of brands I’ve loved this year, though – so many that I couldn’t possibly name them all, here are some of the stores I’ve shopped from most this year…
01. H&M
Just off the top of my head, I’d say that around 70% of my shopping this year has come from H&M. I know a lot of people frown on them, and consider them to be fast-fashion at its worst but I love H&M for basics, and I’ve also found quite a few stand-out pieces there (like this skirt, for instance), so I just keep on coming back to them!
02. ZARA
I will probably always love Zara. I haven’t made quite as many Zara purchases as I usually do this year, but the ones I have made, I’ve loved! I got this stone coloured trench coat back in March, for instance, and it’s definitely been one of my most-worn items of the year: I have NO idea what I wore before I had this!
03. OFFICE
Hands-down the best shoe brand of the year for me: if I could have bought everything Office released in 2016, I probably would have!
04. MANGO
I became obsessed (or, rather re-obsessed) with Mango during a holiday in Spain back in March, and the obsession continued when I got home. I don’t have a store near me, unfortunately, so I have to rely on the website: both the trousers and sweater in the above photo came from Mango, however, so I’d day I’m not doing too badly, all things considered!
05. SHOPBOP
OK, I know they’re a site sponsor, so you might not believe me, but Shopbop is a genuinely awesome store, with some of the best customer service I’ve ever encountered: I’ll never stop being amazed at the speed with which they get my orders to me, all the way from America!
What was your favourite clothing brand this year?
I’ve been loving New Look’s Tall collection this year, and also Primark for their cheap cheerfulness.
