Oasis ‘Kylie’ gold cross-front sandals, £40
As much as I love Oasis for clothes, I’m guilty of neglecting their shoe section, which is a shame, because there are plenty of little gems tucked away in there, including quite a variety of pretty flats. Today, however, it’s these ‘Kylie’ sandals I’m concentrating on: these have a nice, not-too-high heel (The site doesn’t provide the measurements, but I’d estimate it to be around 3 – 3.5″ inches at most – don’t quote me on that, though!), plus a go-with-anything gold upper. I think these would work as both day and eveningwear, but if you find the gold a little too dressy, there’s also a floral print version, which would be a nice summer sandal.
The one drawback of these, however, is that unless you are going to wear them as evening shoes, they’re probably a little too summery to be of much use in still-chilly March, so here are some other items from Oasis which have caught my eye – and which you won’t have to wait to wear!
Bird print sweater, £32
I always gravitate towards the dress section of the Oasis website, but they also do a really nice line in tops and knitwear. I love this pretty, bird-top, which feels fresh and spring-like, but which won’t leave you shivering from the cold.
This double heart jumper is also a nice transitional piece: it’s not super-chunky, but it should still keep you warm, and will be an easy way to give a bit of a lift to the classic “jeans and a sweater” look.
Organza midi skirt, £45
If you don’t want to wear jeans with that sweater, I think it could be cute with this organza midi skirt. I’m a big fan of the “full skirt and slouchy sweater” look: it’s not always the easiest to pull off, but if you can manage it, it’s a great way to dress down one of those ladylike skirts, and make them more wearable for day-to-day.
