Bottega Veneta silver glitter pumps, £495
I think we’ve now officially reached the point in the year when I stop even pretending to feature shoes that DON’T have a generous dose of glitter all over their uppers. There’ll be plenty of time next year for all of the other styles of shoe out there: for now, we may as well indulge ourselves with the kind of party-perfect pumps that could double as a glitter ball if you really wanted them to.
These shoes are by Bottega Veneta, and have the familiar glitter upper, complete with a vintage-inspired tie-front design. Two cut-outs on each side of the foot will reveal a little bit of skin (or stocking, if you prefer), while the high stiletto heel and gently rounded toe finish off the look.
The toe is actually fairly unusual in the world of footwear right now: rounded toes have given way to pointed ones in recent years, but these shoes prove that there are still other styles to be found, if you just look hard enough!
I’m sure no one really needs any styling suggestions for shoes like these: they’re designed to be worn with every party dress under the sun – although not all at the same time, obviously. For this outfit, then, I’ve indulged myself with some fantasy shopping, coming up with an evening outfit that costs more than a second-hand car, but which is (probably) a whole lot prettier than one, too:
Oh, and P.S – if you’re lucky enough to buy this beautiful Vivienne Westwood dress, but don’t like the shoes, I think it would also look gorgeous with the navy and black J Crew pumps I featured a few days ago – a perfect match!
if you just love the glitter shoes, meanwhile, well, as I said, I don’t think you’ll ever be stuck for party dresses to wear with them!
I love them but hate the string tie thingy, it looks cheap 🙁
