Next lace bow-back court shoes, £45
Remember Carven’s bow-back heels from last year? I’ve been noticing quite a few “inspired by” versions starting to appear on the high street lately, which is great news for those of us who loved, but couldn’t afford, the originals.
These lace-topped Next court shoes are one of those versions, and like the Carven shoes, they’re finished off with a big, floppy bow on the slingback strap. Unlike their designer counterparts, however, these have a floral lace pattern on the upper, which creates an interesting effect, which is quite different from the kind of thing I usually associate with lace shoes: in a good way, I mean.
The black and white colourway also makes these very fashionable right now, although I don’t think these’s much chance of slingback court shoes every being OUT of fashion, exactly. These have a 4.3″ heel combined with a small, covered platform, and it’s worth taking a look at the Next website to check out the view from the back: the knotted bow really is almost identical in shape to the Carven one, but the £45 price tag is very different indeed!
I don’t know how I feel about the lace pattern. I’m not sold on it. Big fan of the bow, however.
