I tried these shoes on when I was in Matalan buying my red ruffle shoes last month, so I can first of all reassure you that although the word “velour” may sound a little alarming, they’re actually nicer than they look/sound, and the uppers look more like suede than “velour”.
However, given that this is a mock-suede shoe that costs £12, you probably wouldn’t expect them to be the hardest wearing footwear around, and you’d probably be right. They do LOOK good, though, and I loved the colours: in fact, the only reason I didn’t walk away with a pair was because I couldn’t decide between the three colours shown above, or the black version which is also available. (They also come in grey, but I wasn’t too taken with that.) At least being indecisive saves you money…
I was concerned about the “velour” but I can totally dig “mock suede”. Love the colours.

i’d be tempted to buy them all! 🙂
