If I’m not really careful, I could end up going totally overboard on gingham during the warmer months of the year. It’s the quintessential summer print, isn’t it? And sure, you could argue that the reason for that is its resemblance to a picnic basket, but I’d simply remind you of gingham capri pants, little summer dresses, pretty headscarves… I could go on. There’s just something very retro about it, and that, of course, is exactly why it’s such a Shoeperwoman favourite.
These Castaner shoes are a great example of the print in action. They have a 4.7 inch heel offset by a high platform, and the fabric uppers are topped with a pretty little brooch to finish the look off. They’d be perfect with the aforementioned capri pants and sundresses (although maybe not gingham ones – you can have too much of a good thing sometimes!), and will also add a fun touch to jeans or shorts.
These are a little bit on the pricey side at £216, so I guess it’s a good thing that the style never really goes out of fashion!

Omg! They’re beautiful! I need more gingham in my life. It is beautiful for summer I quite agree!
If only these were cheaper…
I really like these, cute and retro looking…
I never used to like gingham because it reminded me off summer dresses I had to wear in primary school, but I love these and now like gingham ^^
Pricey but cute!
