Moschino black patent high heeled Mary Janes

moschino patent mary janes Moschino black patent high heeled Mary Janes

I really need to start checking out Yoox.com more often. Almost every time I go there, I find something I like, but there’s just so much choice it can be a little overwhelming, and easy to miss the best bargains.

These Moschino Mary Janes have such a classic appearance that it would be hard to go wrong with them, and while the pointed toes on these won’t be to everyone’s taste, it’s a style that’s been making a comeback recently, so at least it won’t look too dated.

These are £180 and are still available in a range of sizes: click here to buy them.

Moschino purple suede Montaparnasse court shoes

moschino purple suede montparnasse court shoes Moschino purple suede Montaparnasse court shoesAn old-fashioned court shoe with a modern-day price tag, these purple suede Montparnasse court shoes by Moschino probably wouldn’t look out of place lying on the floor of some courtier’s boudoir, back in ye olden days, although they have a bit of a 40s feel about them too. They have a distinctly “courtly” look about them, with those layered rosettes sticking up in a kind of tongue, and the rich purple suede also adds to the slightly decadent feel. They have a slightly decadent price tag, too: these are on sale for $368 at Endless.com – click here to buy them.

Moschino heart front peep toe shoes

It’s been a while since I showed you a pair of heart-front shoes, so let’s fix that right this very second, with these black, white and red peep toes by Moschino, which are $769 at Zappos Couture.

I particularly like the shape of the heart on these, and the way it loops down into the peep toe, making it less kitsch than some of the heart embellishments I’ve featured.  I’m also keen on the colour mix, and while my preference is always going to be for a slightly higher heel (these are 3″), the pyramid shape of this one is a nice finishing touch.

What do you think?

Moschino red peep toes with bow detail

moschino red peep toes Moschino red peep toes with bow detailI wish Yoox.com had provided a photo of these Moschino peep toes from the back: they look like they just might be wonderful, in a rather kitsch, 80′s fashion way, but the bow on the heel is the stand-out detail, and you just can’t see it properly because of the angle of the photo. There also looks like there’s an odd little elastic strap at the heel which I can’t quite see the use for, so another photo (or seeing them in real life) would help clear up that little mystery too.

Those points aside, the more I look at these shoes, the more I like them. The shape of the peep toe is particularly nice, and these have something of a fairytale feel to them – or maybe I’ve just been reading too many ‘Alice In Wonderland’ themed press releases lately. Also, look! Stripes on the insole! That does it for me…

If it does it for you, too, these are £195 at Yoox, with a range of sizes still available.

Moschino Cheap & Chic nude pumps with pink embellishment

moschino nude pumps Moschino Cheap & Chic nude pumps with pink embellishmentI seem to be writing a lot about Moschino lately. It’s not actually a brand I’d particularly class as a “favourite” of mine, but they have been coming up with some interesting shoes recently, one example of which is shown above. I love the nude peep toe, naturally, but I love that bright pink “curl” on the toe even more. It’s an unexpected touch which adds a touch of colour to the shoe, and gives it a playful kind of look, which is always nice: shoes should be fun, after all, even the ones we buy for work, or for some other less-than-fun purpose.

These are $515, and are available to buy direct from the Moschino website.

Moschino Cheap & Chic heart-front ‘Sandwich’ t-bar wedge sandals

moschino heart wedges Moschino Cheap & Chic heart front Sandwich t bar wedge sandalsI’m not quite sure why Moschino decided to name these shoes ‘Sandwich’, but leaving the name aside for the moment, let’s take a look at the latest in a long line of heart-decorated shoes.

On the plus side, I absolutely love the colour of these: there are those who would argue that red and green should never be seen, but I think the little red accents on this greeny-blue upper work really well. As for the rest, well, there’s something a little childlike about them, and the combination of bright colours and chunky platform may be too much for some tastes.

What do you think of these? We know they’re definitely not “cheap” at $395, but do you find them “chic”? If so, you can pick up a pair at Piperlime.

Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I could swear these shoes are sticking their tongues out at me. They are, aren’t they! The cheek of it!

Strange “tongue” detail aside, these are great fun, although I’m finding it easier to picture them on Barbie than on actual human beings. The cut-out at the back of the heel is obviously the stand-out detail here, but I actually think the bright pink colour is what really makes them stand out.

If you want to be a Barbie girl, these are 587 from Moschino.

Do not adjust your sets, readers : this isn’t two different pairs of shoes, it’s the same shoe, photographed from two different sides. I KNOW! That’s what I thought, too. I mean, can you even imagine a situation in which this would suddenly become practical? If you can, please tell me: I’m genuinely fascinated by this…
