Shoe Save # 40/75: Green fingered skirted

    WHAT: Charlotte Russe bow slingbacks
    WHEN: Thursday,August 18th, 2011
    WHERE: Out and about
WITH: Green skirt (Topshop), black sweater (ancient, can’t remember), black belt (Probably New Look)

    It didn’t rain yesterday.

I’d like to say I took advantage of the brief break in the downpour to save another pair of shoes, but actually, the only shoes “saved” were my black rubber boots, which I had to wear while mowing the lawn. Have I mentioned lately how much I HATE gardening?

Anyway, it did rain again today, but not before I’d managed to save these black slingbacks, which I got in Charlotte Russe years ago.

black slingback shoes Shoe Save # 40/75: Green <strike>fingered</strike> skirtedThese shoes were as cheap as… well, as Charlotte Russe shoes, basically. I still wear them fairly often, though, and have actually worn them several times this summer already, so I’m glad to know that they’re safe. And now I’m up to Shoe Save 40! I like hitting those nice, round numbers: always feels like a bit of a landmark! On to the next 35! (Gulp!)

Ruby Shoeday Red Shoes on Tuesdays Ruby Shoesday # 16: Cheaty McCheaterston

(Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragons, red ASOS pencil skirt, black bardot sweater, Primark bow belt)

OK, OK, I’m totally cheating with this Ruby Shoesday, because these shoes are only a little bit red rather than totally red. This morning, though, while I was pondering whether or not I could get away with using them for a Ruby Shoesday challenge, I happened to look at Shoegal, and saw that Fi had done exactly that. Well, that made up my mind for me, and the Lady Dragons were duly inducted into the Ruby Shoesday rotation. Now I just wish I’d thought of doing it sooner…

Ruby Shoesday # 15: Back to Black

(Red Christian Louboutin wedges; black off-shoulder sweater; black bow belt, New Look; polka dot pencil skirt, eBay)

If I look a little bit sad in these photos, well, that’s because I am. Winter arrived here almost overnight this week, which means that:

    a) I need to either freeze in my sandals, or lose them under the terms of the Shoe Challenge.

    b) This is probably my last chance to wear my beloved red Louboutins, for a while at least. (Although, hey, there’s always Non-Casual Friday! And central heating!)

Also: I really need to seek out some new ruby shoes for winter. I do have four pairs of cold-weather-appropriate red shoes, but two are pairs that I hardly ever wear, and as we now have approximately 11 months of winter ahead of us, that’s a LOT of Tuesdays on which to rotate the same two pairs of shoes. (Not that it stopped me wearing these ones all summer, mind you…)

Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 15: Simple

shoe challenge 15 Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 15: Simple

    What: Black flats by George
    When: Saturday, April 3, 2010
Where: Dinner with parents, going to the park
With: Black trousers, TK Maxx; sweater, so old I can’t remember; 50s style sunglasses, eBay; jacket, gifted; headband, eBay

I have to confess, I can’t actually remember whether I intended to include these shoes in the Shoe Challenge or not, because as well as being just a simple pair of black flats I bought from George at Asda (yes, really) about two years ago, they’re also on their last legs, and will probably be headed to the shoe store in the sky after today! Still, I did wear them today, so I’ve faithfully recorded their appearance. Maybe I’ll switch them to dog-walking duties rather than ditching them completely…
