Beige polka dot court shoes from Dorothy Perkins

Beige polka dot court shoes, £38

Remember the Kate Spade ‘Licorice’ pumps I’ve been lusting after? The beige ones? With the black polka dots? When these first popped up in the Shoeperwoman shoe store, I thought that’s what I was looking at.

But it wasn’t.

No, these are by Dorothy Perkins, and although they have the same polka dot upper, and a similar pointed toe, they have a very different price-point, costing just £38. They’re not exactly the same, of course: the colour is darker, and the shape a little less elegant. The polka dots are a suedette fabric, rather than patent, and if you were to place the two shoes side-by-side, you’d have no difficulty working out which was which. For me, though, the price, plus the fact that I wouldn’t have to ship them from the US (and then return them there if they didn’t fit) goes a long way towards making up for all of that, which means there’s  just no way I’m going to be able to resist these, is there?

Now, however, we get to play my least very favourite game of “will they still be in stock by pay day?” Place your bets, folks…
