Shoe Deja Vu: YSL Palais Vs Kelsi Dagger ‘Abrielle’

Black and yellow pumps by Kelsi Dagger

It’s the familiar shape of YSL’s ‘Palais’ platforms… on a shoe by Kelsi Dagger.

THIS is the YSL shoe:

YSL Palais pumpsAs you can see, the overhang on the toe is more extreme in the original, as is the curve on the heel. The basic shape is the same, tough, and Kelsi Dagger’s ‘Arielle’ is just one of many versions of this shoe that you’ll be able to find at the moment, so no need to despair over the £520 price tag on the originals: these ones are just $129, and are available in five different colours: click here to take a look.

New Look has an identical glittery one at the moment (gold and bronze), as well as a patent leather one in black.

Oh thank you for posting that! I was gutted when I saw kelsidagger.com doesn’t deliver to the UK! You have just made my day :)

Considering they look quite the same… and one pair is considerably more expensive than the generic version… I’ll stick to the pair on a budget! But both pairs are lovely!

I have a topshop pair of platforms with a similar angled platform at the front (don’t know the correct term) and the amount of times I have lost my balance and tipped forward! I find them a very difficult type shoe to stand in. I still wear them of course because they are pretty

I have two pairs of the Palais shoes, and I love them. No-one has the good sense to do a cheaper pair and make them available in Australia.
