Shoes of Prey: the site that lets you design and buy your own shoes!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but often when I go shoe-shopping, I have something very specific in mind. The problem with that, though, is that “in mind” is normally where that oh-so-perfect shoe remains, because no matter how long and hard I look, I can never find it in the real world. It’s like the quest for the Holy Grail only, you know, with shoes.

This is why I’ve just lost a big chunk of my Monday morning to Shoes of Prey – a website that lets you take your dream shoe and turn it into reality. You get to choose the heel height, colours, embelishments, toe and heel shape… you get the picture. And when you’re done, you get to order the shoes you’ve just designed: your quest for the Holy Grail is finally over.

As you’d expect with a bespoke service like this, these aren’t what you’d call Budget Buys – prices start at £150 for flat and go up to £180 for the highest height of heel – but I don’t think they’re too unreasonable either, given that the shoes are being made to your own specifications.

The results look rather nice, too:

What do you think of this idea? Does it sound like something you would use? If it does, check out the Shoes of Prey website for more information.
