One of the reasons I love shoes more than (almost) any other type of fashion item, is the fact that you can afford to get a little bit “crazier” with your shoe choices than you generally can with clothes. I don’t ever wear animal print on dresses, jackets, trousers, or any other type of clothing, for instance, but I do love a good animal print pump, and these cheetah print shoes by Loeffler Randall (£350) are a great example of why that is.
Although the print on these is bold, the black and tan colours are actually pretty subdued, and very easy to style – especially at this time of year, when browns and blacks will blend seamlessly into the regular range of autumn colour palettes. The vamp may be low and pointed, meanwhile, but the heel is mid-height, and a little thicker than your average stiletto, so they balance each other out nicely, making these pumps much more wearable than the words “cheetah print shoes” would generally suggest.
Although I have a few pairs of shoes in leopard print, cheetah print is notably absent from my closet, and seeing these has made me question why: it’s very close to the polka dot prints I wear so much of, so no wonder I like these!
How would you wear cheetah print shoes, though?
As I mentioned above, these colours are ideal for autumn, so I’ve put together a little transitional outfit, to get you through the next few weeks in style:
♥ River Island trousers ♥ River Island top ♥ Coach classic short trench ♥ Marc by Marc Jacobs bag ♥ Joules silk scarf
This is the kind of thing I’d wear all autumn if I could: as it is, the trousers and top (both from River Island), have gone right onto my wish list!
Love the neutral outfit, I sometimes wish I could wear things like that but I’d have to chuck out all my clothes in colours & patterns to start all over again. I do have 2x pairs of leopard print shoes though so it’s a start!
They are like irregular polka dots! Very nice indeed.
