Time for a little bit of getting-to-know you! (Getting to know aaaallll abbboooouuut yooouuu…)
Every Friday, I’ll post five questions, which I’ll answer in the post, before handing it over to you: feel free to post your answers on your own blog, if you have one (Please link back to this post, if you do!), or in the comments section if you don’t. Questions will come either from the Questions forum, if there are any new questions that don’t require a particularly lengthy answer, or from a random generator/ one of the ‘Friday 5’ sites which inspired this post, if there aren’t. Oh, and if you’d like to submit questions of your own for next week’s post, just leave them in the forum, and select ‘Five on Friday’ from the dropdown!
Here are this week’s questions!
WHAT WAS THE LAST GIFT YOU RECEIVED?
It was my birthday last month, so I got quite a few lovely surprises: I think the last one was this white blazer from Zara, which ShoeperMan bought me, and which I’ve been wearing ever since! (Er, not literally, obviously: I DO take it off at night. Most nights, anyway.)
WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF IN THE MORNING?
I’m embarrassed to admit it, but…my phone. As I said in this post, the first thing I do in the morning, before I even get out of bed, is to reach for my phone and start checking email, etc. I’d blame the fact that I’m self-employed, which means you never really “switch off”, but the truth is I’m just addicted…
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
McDonalds! I lasted two weeks, at which point I was offered another job, which I’d interviewed for at the same time. Even if I hadn’t had something else to go to, though, I don’t think I’d have lasted much longer: people who work in customer service have my ever-lasting admiration and respect! (Having said that, the job I left for was ALSO in customer service, and it wasn’t much better: I worked weekends in a call centre while I was at university, and for the duration of my first “proper” job, so I was still dealing with people all the time (and mostly angry ones, at that) – but at least I wasn’t having to deal with them face-to-face!
WHAT WAS THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW?
Star Wars – which I saw at the “one minute after midnight” showing, the night it came out. I actually rarely go to the cinema: I enjoy movies, but I don’t really feel much of a need to see them the second they come out, and I’m not much of a fan of seeing them as part of a crowd. (Also, our local cinema is always FREEZING, so I’d rather wait until the movie is on Netflix, and watch it the comfort of my own home.) I was one of those kids who was absolutely OBSESSED with Star Wars, though, so I made an exception for my old friend Han Solo…
WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU CALLED OR TEXTED?
My best friend, Stephanie: she lives in the south of England, so I don’t get to see her often enough, but she’s hopefully coming to stay with us next month for a couple of days, so I’m looking forward to that.
Now over to you!
