Shoe Kryptonite: Beatrix Ong red patent Mary Jane shoes

As much as I love the look of Mary Janes, I don’t actually tend to wear them very often, because, in the hands of teh wrong designer, the style can look a little child-like. (That’s part of the appeal, of course, but it’s a look I try to avoid)

Not these ones, though.

These are by Beatrix Ong, and I think they’re deserving of the title “Shoe Kryptonite”, don’t you? Quite simply, these are sex-in-a-shoe, and that bright red patent upper only serves to emphasise that fact. I like the fact that the Mary Jane strap has been kept low on the vamp, which helps make the shoe a little more “grown up” than many other Mary Janes I’ve seen.

These are also available in black and nude (although the “nude” looks more like a pearlescent white to me, and they’re £350 from here. More images under the jump…
