SHOES: Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon heart shoes in pink, c/o Sarenza
    SAVED: June 2012

Another Shoe Save from my holiday in June, and as you can tell from the title, these are the last pair of my Vivienne Westwood/Melissa Lady Dragon shoes to be saved, so my jelly shoe collection is now safe!

These are really fun shoes to wear: they’re just so pretty and girlie, and although they were officially “saved” back in June, they’ve been worn a few times since then, too, with the waterproof upper making them very suited to the British summer!

SHOES: Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dtragon pink glitter shoes (c/o Sarenza)
    OUTFIT: Photos here.
    SAVED: Saturday, May 26th, 2012

Our gorgeous weather continued on Saturday, so I grabbed the opportunity to fit in another quick shoe save.

This is my second pair of Vivienne Westwood/Melissa Lady Dragons to make it through this year’s challenge, and I got them last year as part of the Sarenza Brand Ambassador programme. In retrospect, I should have sized up with these: they were the fourth pair of Lady Dragon’s I’d bought (gulp!), so I’d just gone for my usual “Lady Dragon” size, which, up until then, had been one size smaller than I usually wear. I got these during the winter, and didn’t have much of an opportunity to wear them, so it was only when I ordered my fifth pair (Look, it’s an addition, OK?) that I realised the sizing seemed to have changed with these shoes, and the latest releases fit much truer to size, meaning that one size down means one size too small. I realised this in time to exchange the last pair I bought for the size up, but it was too late for these, and while they are still wearable, they’re definitely the least comfortable of my Lady Dragon collection, so I tend to reserve them for days when I won’t have to do a huge amount of walking.

Luckily for me, Saturday was one of those days, so these made it through the challenge: just another three pairs of Lady D’s to go!

  3. Whoops, I did it again…

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you’ve probably already seen this:

It’s the box containing my latest pair of Sarenza Brand Ambassador shoes. (It’s also Rubin’s Hairy Bone, which has obviously decided it wants to appear in all of my photos fro now on. Weird.) I feel I have to justify it in some way, so let  me just say this:

    I had been drinking .

OK, that sounded bad, didn’t it?

Let me clarify: Shoeperman and I were having a bit of a movie night at home, and we’d opened a bottle of wine, as you do. So my willpower was significantly lowered, is what I’m trying to tell you.

Before I went to bed, I decided to just have a quick look at the Sarenza website. I had a gift code I still hadn’t used, you see, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a look, so I loaded up the page, and hit up the “new arrivals” section.

    And there they were.

WHAT: Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dragon heart shoes
    WHEN: Tuesday, June 19th, 2011
    WHERE: Out and about
WITH: Green dress (Closet); black belt (came free with an ASOS dress)

Did any of you ever see the movie version of Great Expectations starring Gwyneth Paltrow as Estella? One of the things I loved about that movie was the fact that Gwyneth’s character wore green in every single scene of it. Different outfits, of course, and different shades, but always green. Now, I’m not for a second advocating wearing the same colour your whole life long, because that would just be silly, but… I think I’m in danger of it happening to me, because I may as well just hold my hands up and admit that this is one of two green dresses I bought recently. And I have my eye on a third. It’s an addiction, I’m telling you: I see them, and I can’t seem to resist them. I don’t know: there was a time a few years back when I just NEVER seemed to find green clothes at all – maybe now that there’s such an abundance of them, my brain has just decided that I must buy them all now, before it’s too late? Hmmm.

Anyway, this blog is supposed to be about shoes, not dresses (although you wouldn’t always know it), so here are the latest pair of saved shoes: my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dragon heart shoes:

  5. Ruby Shoesday # 16: Cheaty McCheaterston

(Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragons, red ASOS pencil skirt, black bardot sweater, Primark bow belt)

OK, OK, I’m totally cheating with this Ruby Shoesday, because these shoes are only a little bit red rather than totally red. This morning, though, while I was pondering whether or not I could get away with using them for a Ruby Shoesday challenge, I happened to look at Shoegal, and saw that Fi had done exactly that. Well, that made up my mind for me, and the Lady Dragons were duly inducted into the Ruby Shoesday rotation. Now I just wish I’d thought of doing it sooner…

As you might have guessed from the lack of Shoe Challenge/Ruby Shoesday posts lately, I’ve hit that Between-Season-Slump I hate so much. It feels too late in the year for summer clothes, but the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been having this month makes it too hot for boots and tights, so while I’m thoroughly bored with my wardrobe right now, I’m reluctant to change it for the winter one and end up sweltering in the sun. I’m also reluctant to complain too much about it, because I am loving the unexpectedly warmer weather, and I know that two weeks into winter I’ll be willing to sell my soul for one week of mid-September so I’m just trying to make the most of it while I can. I can’t believe I’m still getting away with peep toes and bare legs!

I love these ASOS pencil skirts. I have a red one and an navy one, and I have my eye on two more…

The belt was an impulse buy in Primark a couple of weeks ago. When I see red belts with bows on them, I just have to buy one.

I’ve earmarked the last Sunday in September for the Great Wardrobe Switchover. Now I just have to hope the warm weather lasts until then!
