Versace Dvea patent-leather platform pumps

Hmm. This is one of those cases where it looks like a regular old court shoe is either giving birth to a giant, mutant platform, or has just hopped aboard one for a piggyback ride. In other words, shoes like this always look to me like they’re not supposed to look like this.

Of course, that double-platform effect is exactly what Versace were aiming for with these shoes, and the result is a 7″ stiletto heel atop a 3″ platform. That sounds a little bit daunting even to a high heel/platform obsessive like me, so I’d hate to imagine how it would feel to someone who’s not used to heels, but if you’d like to give these a shot, click here to buy them from Net-a-Porter, where they’re £770.

  • Yet another pair of shoes that would look great in the closet but catastrophic in reality. In other words I wouldn’t reject them if they came to me as a birthday present, but I will never ever in a million years survive on them. 🙂

  • THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE PATENT AND I’M LOVING THESE ARCHITECTURAL PLATFORMS. UNFORTUNATELY I’M IN THE “NOT USED TO HEELS” CATEGORY AND SO THEY ARE NOT FOR ME, BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM ON FEET. GOINT TO SEARCH RIGHT NOW. LOVE YOUR BLOG!

  • i think we all have seen these shoes in beautifull vibrant colours for the versace ss 2010 runway show.WE ALL FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM .. now i see that versace made solid all black colour for this shoe. ITS NOT BAD but then now that they are all black you loose the pretty of the shoe and they look more like just a big black thing on your feet, even though these shoes are big and chunky, the pastel coulours gave them a kind of airyness and made them look lite on your feet, but the black i think is just 2 heavy, i have them
