Salvatore Ferragamo ‘Runa’ suede pumps, £389

I’ve mentioned in the past that Salvatore Ferragamo is a brand I don’t really “get”, especially when it comes to their famous flats. I’m starting to think it might just be flats in general I don’t get, though, because I most definitely get the pink heels shown above. Well, I’d LIKE to get them, anyway: they’re £389, so that’s just not going to happen, unfortunately. And now I’ve used the word “get” so many times it’s started to look almost like a foreign language to me, so moving on…

These probably aren’t the kind of shoes that will make your heart flutter or convince you to rush right out and buy them: they’re a pretty standard court shoe, with a high heel and a bow, and that’s a description that could fit thousands of other pairs of shoes, as you well know. Amongst all those other shoes, though, I think these still manage to stand out. The soft pink colour, the triple-layered bows and the low-cut sides all combine to make sure these aren’t your average pumps. They have that wonderful, ladylike feel to them, which never fails to impress me, and the suede upper should wear-in nicely and make these comfortable to wear, despite the height of heel. The colour, meanwhile, is pale enough to go with everything and will be almost nude on some paler skin tones: just make sure not to wear them on a rainy day, or a messy surface, because that shade definitely won’t be the easiest to keep clean.

  • I have both flats and heels by Ferragamo and I love them both. My favourites are definitely the heels, if I had to choose. These are gorgeous.
