Runway Shoes: Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 – 2011

Chnel shoes fall 2010

Looks like Karl Lagerfeld is anticipating a new ice-age: Chanel’s shoe collection for Fall/Winter 2010 is heavy on fur boots (it’s fake, for those who were wondering) and other winter warmers.

I’ll pass on the boots, but I do rather like the black pumps worn with what I’m assuming are detachable spats (if they’re actually attached to the shoe, then cancel that result…): a great way to make an ordinary pair of court shoes a little more weather proof. You’ll find some more images from the show in the gallery below: don’t forget to tell me what you think!

  • I like the way they threw water all over the runway to demonstrate the waterproof aspect! I’m not very familiar with the anatomy of spats, but the last picture makes it look like the grey things are some sort of plastic sock. (You can just see the instep as a separate entity from the shoe.)

Those fluffy boots must get uncomfortably warm for anyone whose job doesn’t involve spending all day in the snow…

  • I’m not really sure about the faux fur boots either. They are like everywhere, all shops have them now. For this fall I rather prefer over the knee boots, kitten heels and ankle boots in suede.
