Well, we seem to have reached that time of year again, when if a shoe doesn’t have either glitter, crystals or sequins on it, the retailers just don’t want to know about it.
Wait, who am I kidding? It’s like that ALL year now, isn’t it? I certainly feel like there are a lot more of what I used to think of as “Christmas party shoes” available all year round these days, so maybe it just feels like there are more of them at the moment because they stand out so much. I mean, you can’t exactly MISS a pair of fuchsia satin heel with crystals on the sole, can you?
These are another example of a trend I’ve spoken about a few times now: the heavily embellished sole. At the risk of repeating myself, I really like the look, and think it’s a good way to enjoy the glamour of glitter (or sequins, or crystals) without it taking over the whole shoe.
As for these ones, they offer another twist on the look by taking the crystals right up into the foot arch. What do you think?
