Dolce & Gabbana crystal-embellished printed brocade Mary Jane pumps, £695
Few things make me happier than a quick look at Dolce & Gabbana’s latest collections: it’s always a real treat for the eyes, and this season is no exception. The busy floral print used on these brocade Mary Janes will be familiar to fans of the brand: D&G do love a good floral, and they use it to exceptionally good effect, both on these shoes, and on so many of the other floral-print items currently available to buy.
This dress, for instance, uses the same print as the shoes, although not even I would try to wear the two together: it might be just a bit too matchy-matchy to pull off easily!
Dolce & Gabbana floral print cotton dress, £875
The matching bra top, meanwhile, is another matter altogether:
Dolce & Gabbana floral print cotton poplin bra top, £345
Net-a-Porter show this styled with a full, 50s-inspired skirt. It would have to be a little bit longer for me to want to wear it like that, but I do love it as a bra – just not for £345!
Speaking of 50s-inspired full skirts, this is the skirt in question:
Dolce & Gabbana floral print full cotton and silk blend skirt, £775
This is my favourite piece of the whole collection (so far, at least): my love of 50s-style skirts has been well documented over on my other blog, and this one is a particularly good example, just made for twirling – oh, and for wearing with your most fabulous pair of high heeled shoes, because skirts this length were more or less made for the highest of heels. If that doesn’t persuade you, I don’t know what will!
