These shoes are part of the Christian Louboutin 20th anniversary collection, and I’m overcoming my natural aversion to perspex on shoes to feature them as this week’s Friday Fix. Actually, I didn’t have to try too hard to overcome that aversion in this case: clear plastic will never be my favourite shoe material, but it’s easy enough to see how these will look on, with the plastic becoming invisible, and helping to create the impression of nothing but a row of bows snaking up the foot.
The “barely there” look isn’t for everyone, of course, and these will expose quite a bit of the foot that wears them. If you can live with that, they’re $1,195 and you can click here to buy them from the Christian Louboutin website.
I loved them immediately when I saw the sketch for the 20 Years Collection…They are SO beautiful! They’ll be mine one day!!
They actually look better in real life than in a picture… but I still wouldn’t wear them. Kudos to those who would!
