These are the kind of shoes which aren’t particularly exciting to look at, but which can end up being true wardrobe workhorses, worn to every dressy occasion until they finally fall apart.
I say they’re “not exciting”: I actually think they’re really beautiful, in an understated kind of way. The upper is a soft gold metallic, and has that wonderful shimmered leather (or, in this case, pleather) effect, which makes a great alternative to glitter or sequins: it’s still a bit “special”, but it’s not quite so in-your-face.
Shape-wise, well, there’s not a whole lot to say: it’s a classic court, with a pointed toe, and a 12cm heel. There’s no platform to balance that out, though, so these are probably destined to be worn only on those days when you don’t expect to do a lot of walking!
What to wear with gold court shoes?
Honestly, you can wear just about ANYTHING with gold court shoes: that’s their whole appeal. The glittered upper on these suggests they’d work best with evening attire, but I think you could easily dress them down a bit too, if you really wanted to. Here’s what I’ve gone for:
Pink and gold outfit:
I had to reduce the contrast on this image slightly, so you could actually see the outfit: it’s very pale, and very pink, which I know won’t be to everyone’s taste… I’ve long been a fan of outfits based around a single colour, however (especially when the colour is a pale one), and I’m an even bigger fan of pink and gold, so I reckon I’d give it a go, although I’d definitely need the bright lipstick (and probably an extra layer of blush) to add a touch of colour!
