Cafè Noir ‘Mathilde’, £63.90
After kicking off the day with a very modern, angular kind of shoe, I couldn’t help but revert right back to type, with the type of shoe I can imagine actually WEARING, as opposed to simply admiring as if it were a piece of art.
For that reason, allow me to introduce Cafè Noir’s ‘Mathilde’ – a black gingham peep toe with red heel and platform, plus a cute little red-trimmed bow. So far, so totally Shoeperwoman. These have a very pin-up girl feel to them, and are just crying out for a pair of capri pants, a circle skirt or a pencil skirt. Of course, if the retro look isn’t for you, you could just as easily style them with some more modern pieces, or even just a simple pair of jeans and t-shirt. Gingham is one of my favourite summer prints, and it’s impossible for me to look at it without thinking of sunny days, walks by the river and, yes, picnic blankets. Come on, you were thinking it too, weren’t you?
Love love love them. They are delightful!
Adorable! I’m surprised you haven’t bought them yet. 😉
I think I have enough shoes in this style 🙂
