I’m in two minds here: on the one hand, I’m nowhere near ready to start thinking about winter coats (although I was tempted to start thinking about them last week, when the weather got so bad it felt like we’d somehow managed to skip a season…), but on the other hand… well, I DO like coats, and there’s just no denying it.
I also like this particular coat, which is by Miss Selfridge, and one of those styles they’ve been releasing every winter for a few seasons now:
My personal favourite was the beautiful dark green version they released last year, and which I STILL regret not buying (I still sometimes search for it on eBay: one day…), but these two colours are totally versatile, and almost as cute.
If you’re after something a bit brighter, meanwhile, ASOS still have a selection of LAST year’s winter coats in stock, and they’re all reduced in price, which makes them easier to justify. Of course, the fact that they’ve been around for a while now also means they’re not going to be available in every size now, but here’s one that caught my eye:
Pink coats were a huge trend a couple of years ago, so I guess some might argue that this one is SO last season to wear now. Not me, though: I’m a big believer in wearing whatever you like, regardless of whether or not it’s on-trend, and I really love coats this colour, although I can’t really wear it myself, unfortunately. Oh well: all the more for you, huh?
River Island’s military style peacoat comes in camel and green, and I genuinely can’t decide which I prefer. Both, however, are showing as low stock in my size, and I’m actually kind of gutted to have found my perfect coat so early in the year: I know it’s going to sell out long before I’m ready to buy one: isn’t that always the way of it?
