Can you believe it’s already time for the next Vivienne Westwood for Melissa drop? I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that I was showing you the Fall 2011 collection, but now here we are with a whole new bunch of shoes to drool over – or not, as the case may be.
I know these shoes are very much an acquired taste, but, having acquired it, I find that nothing really seems to dampen my enthusiasm for shoes that smell like bubblegum and don’t get damaged in the rain. The newcomers for SS12 include:
The Wing Lady Dragon, £120. I love the shape of these, and the “wings on your feet” reference, although I’m not crazy about any of the available colourways.
The Skyscraper Chain, £160. These are the only style I really don’t like: I’ve always hated chains as ankle straps, and much prefer the Skyscraper style without them.
The Vivienne Westwood Melissa Mule, £120. Mules don’t tend to be popular amongst my readers, so I’ll be interested to hear what you think of these. I initially didn’t like them, but think they’ve grown on me: I also think they might look better in real life than they do in this image.
Some new Lady Dragon Heart colours. Despite owning three pairs of these now, I still get excited every time a new version comes out, and I know I’m going to have a really hard time resisting this peach colour.
There’s lots more to see from this collection, so I’ve put some more images in the gallery below. Don’t forget to tell me what you think of them!
All of the shoes featured are available to pre-order from the Vivienne Westwood website, with delivery scheduled for November 14th onwards.
I really adore the bright orange version of the Lady D’s.
The shoes keep getting cuter and cuter! I really like the one with the wing and the black one with the chains 🙂
The mules in grey would be my choice.
Love the wing lady in cream/red. Gorgeous!
I’m also a fan of the Lady Dragon Hearts and have two pairs that I adore.
I actually really like the wings – the black and red versions more so – but part of me thinks they would be nicer if they weren’t open toed?
HATE the mules.
I have the white winged Lady Dragons, and I love them so much! I’m a big fan of anything with wings, so these seemed perfect to me! I’m really liking the new heart colours too (although like you, I already have 3 pairs with hearts, as well as a cherry pair, so I probably don’t ‘need’ any more).
I still can’t get my head around plastic shoes but I love the winged version!
The peach ones are lovely!
