I’m trying really hard here not to make some kind of terrible pun about how these shoes have “won my heart” or something similar. It looks like I’ve failed. Whoops.
Shoes with heart motifs normally start to flood the stores just in time for Valentine’s Day, but I’m not complaining to be seeing them now, because any time is a good time for shoes with hearts, as far as I’m concerned: especially red ones. These particular shoes use a standard strappy sandals as the basis for a multi-heart design, balanced on a slim stiletto heel, which looks lower in this photo than it actually is. (It’s exactly 4″, so not too high, but not too low, either)
The little quote inside the heart, meanwhile, reads (as far as I can tell), “Your eyes are the eyes of a woman in love.” I’m not sure if the shoes are what you’re supposed to be “in love” with, and I could probably come up with a few shoe-related quotes I’d prefer if I were to give it some thought, but it’s a cute little touch, and, of course, you’re the only one who’ll know it’s there when you’re wearing them.
Here’s what they look like on:
It’s not the greatest photo, obviously (Side note: I hate it when retailers use tiny images for their product shots: when you’re thinking of buying something this expensive, it’s a case of “the bigger, the better” surely?), but it’s just enough to show that these look better on the foot than they do in the image. The dress, meanwhile, is also by Valentino, and is a little bit too cutesy for my taste, but there’s no denying that it’s a perfect match for the shoes, which were presumably designed with it in mind (or possibly the other way round!).
