The End of An Era

Forever Amber

If you’re a longtime reader, I’m sure you’ve probably noticed that new posts have been a bit thin on the ground lately – to say the least.

There are a lot of different reasons for that, and I’ll be talking about some of them over at my other blog soon, but the main reason is a really simple one: there just aren’t enough hours in the day.  For a long time now, I’ve been really struggling to maintain two separate blogs – especially when they both cover similar topics – and, when I became a mum last December, it quickly become apparent to me that it just wasn’t going to be possible to juggle the demands of parenthood AND keep both blogs updated on anything like a regular basis.

So, after giving it a lot of thought, it’s with a huge amount of sadness that I’m here today to let you know that I’d made the decision to hang up my stilettos (Metaphorically speaking, that is: I’ll never give up my heels!), and hand ShoeperWoman.com over to a brand new owner, who’ll hopefully be able to give it the care and attention it needs, and which I’m just not able to provide.

This hasn’t been an easy decision: this site has been a huge part of my life for the best part of a decade now, and I’ve made some wonderful friends because of it. But it’s been obvious to me since long before Max was born that something had to give, and well, this is it. While it’s the end of an era for ShoeperWoman, however, it’s definitely not the end of my career as a blogger: you can still find me over at ForeverAmber.co.uk. and I still write about shoes and clothes, although these days my fashion posts are interspersed with parenting and lifestyle ones. So, I really hope you’ll pop over to say hello from time to time: for now, though, all that remains for me to say is a huge thank you to those of you who’ve stuck with the site this long, and helped make it such an important part of my life: it’s truly been shoeper knowing you.

  • Amber, I’m so sorry to hear you are giving up Shoeper woman. You’ll always be a Shoeperhero to me. Your challenges inspired me to make sure I wore all my shoes I own and your regular style tips have been great over the years.

I did wonder if something was up as you hadn’t been posting much recently, and even less about shoes, but I totally understand that you need to prioritise the most important thing…your family.

I wish you all the best in the future and look forward to seeing what happens to shoeperwoman with its new owner.

  • I’m sorry to hear that you are hanging up your shoeper shoes but I think you have been inspirational and I think your choice to be so open and share your reasons makes you just as admirable as ever! I’ve been reading since you started so I remember the nearly daily shoes in my feed and I do miss that but I’ve grown up with your blog so I love your mum posts and Forever Amber Blog even more! I wish you the best & will continue to loyally support you & shoes! xx
